Currently only available through US department store Macy’s, as of September 2012, Madonna’s ‘Material Girl’ fashion range will be launched throughout Europe. With the exclusive European rights to the line purchased by the German shopping group Otto (owners of Freemans and Grattan), British, German, Russian and other European consumers will soon be able to access the Autumn/Winter collection online.
Otto’s vice-president for ladies wear and menswear, Oliver Klinck, stated; "Madonna and her daughter have created a fresh and fashionable collection. We are excited to be offering ‘Material Girl’ exclusively,"
Aimed at 16 to 24 year olds, the collection of tops, jackets, skirts and jeans is designed to have a ‘rock-edge’ feel, and sees prices ranging between £15 and £100 per piece. Co-designed by the 53 year old stars’ teenage daughter Lourdes, the line’s rock feel is further supported by its rock royalty representation, with Georgia May Jagger recently announced as the face of ‘Material Girl’; a title previously held by Kelly Osbourne among others.
