Online fashion retailer ASOS, has launched a delivery service that allows customers to pick up their orders from one of a network of convenience stores. The new provision is offered through CollectPlus, which has 4,500 registered corner stores that act as secure seven day delivery and pick up points.
ASOS is hoping the service will bring a new element of convenience that home delivery sometimes lacks. Shoppers are emailed or texted a code that they must provide at their pick up store of choice within 10 days of delivery to the store. Customers are given the option of next day, standard or three day delivery and returns can also be made through the service.
Rival online fashion retailer Very.co.uk already uses CollectPlus and Amazon has trialled delivery lockers in locations such as train stations to offer a similar convenient pick-up service.
Stats show click and collect to be a very popular choice with 10.4% of online sales being collected. Tesco Direct reported that a massive 40% of electrical items bought online were picked up in store.
