Following on from the launch of its first international website in October, Marks & Spencer has today opened a new flagship store in Paris, its first shop in France since closing all of its European stores back in May 2001.
The store, located on the Champs-élysées, comprises 1,400 square metres and boasts three floors retailing a range of M&S womenswear and a specially selected range of food. A further three stores are scheduled to be opened in Paris in the near future, one of which will be a dedicated Simply Food outlet.
Marc Bolland, Chief Executive of Marks & Spencer, comments: “We’re delighted to be returning to France with our new store at the heart of Paris. We’ve had numerous requests from consumers in France for our food and clothing, so we’re pleased to be coming back to serve French customers once again.
He continues: “Our new store on the Champs-élysées will allow us to showcase M&S’ products to customers across the capital. Our French website allows customers throughout France to order our products in their own language and currency. We’re really looking forward to welcoming customers to the store.”
